Riccar & Simplicity Vacuum Repair in Richmond, VA

Riccar and Simplicity build some of the last American-made vacuums, with metal brush rolls, metal handle tubes, and serviceable motors where other brands switched to disposable plastic. They are sister brands from the same factory, and our Riccar and Simplicity service training covers both lines — including the Tandem Air dual-motor systems, the self-sealing HEPA bag systems, and the Vibrance and Symmetry uprights we see most. These machines are built to be repaired, and repairing them is the point.

What We See On The Bench

Common Riccar & Simplicity problems we fix

Tandem Air machines losing deep-clean power

With two motors, a fault can hide in either airflow path. We test the direct-air and bypass stages separately, then service the one actually losing performance instead of guessing.

Brush roll wear on metal rollers

Metal brush rolls last, but bristle strips and bearings still wear. We replace the strips or bearings and reset roller height so the machine grooms carpet the way it did new.

Self-sealing bag system not sealing

A misaligned collar or worn gasket lets fine dust bypass the bag and load the filters. We restore the seal path — important on machines sold specifically for their filtration.

Cord and handle switch failures

The most common electrical faults on hard-working uprights. Both are inexpensive, in-stock repairs with proper strain relief so they do not recur.

Riccar & Simplicity Questions

Riccar & Simplicity repair FAQs

Do you service both Riccar and Simplicity?

Yes — they are sister brands built by Tacony in the same Missouri factory, sharing platforms and parts, and our brand service training covers both. Whether it is a Riccar Vibrance, an R25, a Simplicity Symmetry, or an older twin of either line, the diagnosis and genuine-parts repair work is the same bench discipline.

Parts for older Riccar and Simplicity models — can you still get them?

In most cases yes. Because Riccar and Simplicity design for serviceability, belts, brush rolls, bags, filters, cords, and many motors remain available even for models that have been out of production for years. Bring the machine in by appointment and we will confirm parts availability with your estimate before any work starts.
